Over 3,500 Old Vehicles Seized in Gurgaon and Faridabad in 5 Years to Curb Air Pollution

Over the past five years, the authorities in Gurgaon and Faridabad have seized over 3,500 old vehicles as part of their efforts to curb air pollution in the region. The seized vehicles include both commercial and private vehicles that do not comply with the emission norms and contribute significantly to the air pollution levels in the area.

According to the officials, the seized vehicles are sent for scrapping or dismantling, and the owners are fined as per the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. The authorities have also been conducting regular drives to check for non-compliance with the emission norms and have been taking strict action against the violators.

The efforts to curb air pollution in the region have gained momentum in recent years, and the authorities have been implementing various measures to tackle the issue. These measures include the implementation of the odd-even scheme, the introduction of electric buses and cars, and the installation of air purifiers at various locations.

The authorities have also been promoting the use of public transport and encouraging people to use bicycles and walk for short distances. The success of these measures can be seen in the improvement in the air quality index in the region, which has shown a steady improvement over the past few years.

However, much more needs to be done to tackle the issue of air pollution in the region, and the authorities are working towards implementing more sustainable and long-term solutions. The cooperation of the public is also essential in this regard, and people are being urged to adopt eco-friendly practices and reduce their carbon footprint to make a significant impact on the environment.
